In 1999, the Presque Isle Yacht Club established the Boating Service Award to recognize club members who have provided exemplary leadership or service to the boating community. On May 30, 1999, at the Opening Day Services, Commodore Ron Berarducci presented the first award to Harold Eisert, Sr., founding Commodore of Presque Isle Yacht Club to honor his work toward the betterment of pleasure boating over the previous 60 years. Each year a committee appointed by the Commodore chooses a deserving recipient for what is now called the Harold Eisert, Sr. Boating Service Award.
